Ex-Judge Makintach: “I love Justice”

Buenos Aires, November 19 (NA) – Former Judge Julieta Makintach stated that she “loves Justice” after being removed from office by the Impeachment Jury in the annex of the Buenos Aires Senate and lamented: “It is a very strong grief that I have to go through.” The woman spoke with the Argentine News Agency and affirmed: “I am clear that after this there is something more beautiful waiting for me, although I still don't know what it is.” In this sense, Makintach highlighted that “there are several proposals,” but she “needs to rest with her family” and “appeal” to the Supreme Court to appeal the ruling issued this Tuesday: “I will go in search of a fair resolution.” However, the former head of the Oral Criminal Court (TOC) No. 2 in San Isidro and substitute for TOC No. 3 of the same Judicial Department lamented that she will now have to go through “a very strong grief,” as she “loved Justice.” Additionally, she described as “consistent with the truth” the impeachment requests presented by lawyer Rodolfo Baqué—defender of nurse Dahiana Gisela Madrid—against her peers Maximiliano Savarino and Verónica Di Tomasso. The former magistrate stated that “that's how it was and it was proven that they knew” about the documentary that caused the nullity of the oral and public trial for the death of Diego Armando Maradona (it will resume on March 17, 2026). The scandal over “Divine Justice” erupted at the end of May when images of Makintach became known, in which she could be seen driving her car to the courts on Ituzaingó 340 street, walking through the hallways, and going up the stairs in the building. In turn, she gave an interview in her office on the case and was filmed in the room where the hearings were being held, in which she voted in favor of Baqué's expulsion and the arrest of Maradona's former head of security Julio César Coria.
